Setting Up Your Profile

Your SkyJourney profile is your travel identity. Customize it to share your adventures with friends and the community.

Profile Components​

Username​

Your unique identifier across SkyJourney:

  • Format - Letters, numbers, and underscores
  • Uniqueness - Must be unique across all users
  • Public URL - skyjourney.app/u/your-username

Changing Your Username​

  1. Navigate to Settings → Account
  2. Find the Username field
  3. Enter your new username
  4. Click Save Changes

Your public profile URL will change. Update any shared links!

Profile Avatar​

Upload a profile picture:

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Click on your current avatar or the Change Avatar button
  3. Upload an image (JPG, PNG, or WebP)
  4. Crop and position as desired
  5. Save your changes

Recommended:

  • Square images work best
  • Minimum 200x200 pixels
  • Maximum file size: 5MB

Public Profile Settings​

Control what others can see:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Account
  2. Toggle Public Profile on or off
  3. Save your preferences

When public profiles are enabled, others can view:

  • Your username and avatar
  • Total flights, distance, and duration
  • Countries visited
  • Visited airports (if you choose to share)
  • Your flight map and tracks

Customization Options​

Measurement Units​

Choose your preferred display format:

  1. Go to Settings → Account
  2. Select Units:
    • Metric - Kilometers, meters, Celsius
    • Imperial - Miles, feet, Fahrenheit
  3. All measurements update automatically

Account Information​

Update your personal details:

  • Name - Display name (optional)
  • Email - Contact email (verified)
  • Bio - Short description (coming soon)

Public Profile Features​

What's Visible​

When someone visits skyjourney.app/u/your-username, they see:

Profile Header​

  • Avatar and username
  • Total statistics
  • Member since date

Flight Map​

  • Visual representation of your routes
  • Visited airports marked
  • Interactive zoom and pan

Statistics​

  • Total flights
  • Distance traveled
  • Countries visited
  • Top airlines (if enabled)

Privacy Controls​

You control your visibility:

  • Fully Public - Anyone can view your profile
  • Private - Only you can see your data
  • Friends Only - Share with connected friends (coming soon)

Sharing Your Profile​

Share your travel profile:

  1. Enable public profile in settings
  2. Copy your profile URL: skyjourney.app/u/your-username
  3. Share on social media, email, or messaging apps

  • Widget for your website
  • Statistics badge
  • Flight map embed

If your desired username is unavailable:

  • Try variations (add numbers, underscores)

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try a different browser
