Transfer your flight history from App in the Air to SkyJourney.

App in the Air is a popular flight tracking app with comprehensive flight logging capabilities. SkyJourney can import your complete flight history.

Export from App in the Air

Step 1: Open the App

  1. Launch App in the Air on your device
  2. Log in to your account
  3. Ensure your flights are synced

Step 2: Access Settings

  1. Tap the menu icon (☰)
  2. Go to Settings or Account
  3. Find Data & Privacy or Export

Step 3: Export Flight Data

  1. Select Export My Data
  2. Choose Flights or Trip History
  3. Select CSV format
  4. Tap Export or Send

Step 4: Get the File

The export can be sent via:

  • Email - Sent to your registered email
  • Download - Saved to your device
  • Share - Use share sheet to save

Save the CSV file to accessible location.

Import to SkyJourney

Step 1: Transfer File (if needed)

If exported from mobile:

  1. Email file to yourself
  2. Or use cloud storage (Dropbox, Google Drive)
  3. Download to your computer

Step 2: Start Import

  1. Log in to SkyJourney
  2. Navigate to FlightsAdd Flight
  3. Select Import
  4. Choose App in the Air (AITA) from dropdown

Step 3: Upload File

  1. Click Choose File
  2. Select your AITA CSV export
  3. Click Upload
  4. Wait for processing

Step 4: Review and Confirm

  1. Check import summary
  2. Review flight count
  3. Check for errors or warnings
  4. Preview sample flights
  5. Click Import Flights

Imported Data

App in the Air exports comprehensive data:

Flight Information

  • ✅ Flight number
  • ✅ Airline
  • ✅ Departure airport
  • ✅ Arrival airport
  • ✅ Departure date and time
  • ✅ Arrival date and time
  • ✅ Aircraft type

Travel Details

  • ✅ Seat number

After Importing

Verify Import

Check your flights:

  1. Go to Flights page
  2. Sort by date
  3. Spot-check several flights
  4. Verify accuracy

Common Checks

  • ✅ Correct airports
  • ✅ Accurate times
  • ✅ Right airlines
  • ✅ Proper aircraft types
  • ✅ No duplicates

Add to imported flights:

Special Considerations

Trip Grouping

App in the Air groups flights into trips:

  • SkyJourney imports individual flights
  • Trip context may be lost
  • Add trip info to notes if desired

Future Flights

AITA includes future flights:

  • SkyJourney can import these
  • Shows as upcoming in your dashboard
  • Edit as details change

Cancelled Flights

If AITA export includes cancelled flights:

  • They'll be imported with status
  • Can be deleted if desired
  • Or kept for record-keeping

Troubleshooting

Export Not Available

Problem: Can't find export option

Solutions:

  • Update AITA to latest version
  • Check if feature requires premium
  • Try on different platform (iOS vs Android vs Web)
  • Contact AITA support

Large File Size

Problem: Export file too large

Solutions:

  • Export in chunks (by year)
  • Import multiple files separately
  • Compress before uploading
  • Contact SkyJourney support for large imports

Import Errors

Problem: Some flights won't import

Possible causes:

  • Invalid airport codes
  • Corrupt data rows
  • Missing required fields
  • Duplicate flights

Solutions:

  • Review error messages
  • Fix in AITA and re-export
  • Manually add problem flights
  • Contact support with error log

Time Zone Issues

Problem: Times seem wrong

Explanation:

  • AITA may export in UTC
  • SkyJourney converts to local airport time
  • Differences are normal

Verification:

  • Compare with boarding passes
  • Check departure/arrival local times
  • Edit if needed

Data Quality Tips

Best Import
  • Clean AITA data first - Fix errors before exporting
  • Complete trip logging - Fill in all fields in AITA
  • Export all data - Don't filter before export
  • Don't edit CSV - Keep original format
  • Verify after - Always check imported data

Continuing with Both Apps

You can:

  • Use both services simultaneously
  • AITA for tracking future flights
  • SkyJourney for statistics and history
  • Periodic imports to keep in sync
